Seniors - Offensive Line

Thursday, June 10 2010

Returning seniors from last season include AJ Mamea, Kevin Castillo, Paul Madrio and Chandler Mentor.  These players gained valuable experience together last year blocking for an offensive unit that finished 2nd in Mid-Florida in scoring with 300 points, while surrendering only 2 sacks the entire season.  Castillo, Madrio and Chandler have been working hard as frequent mini-camp participants.  AJ looked in good shape last Friday at Orientation and looking to get on the field soon.

Mario Bonetti and Jacob Wiley are reunited with some of their former Pee Wee team-mates from two seasons ago. They’re looking bulked up and ready to blend at a high performance level this season.  Adrian Hoffman and Josiah Johnson, two other teammates from that Pee Wee team are attempting a notable comeback. Together, these four players were vital in leading the way in the trenches of the Pee Wee Team’s 20-4 run, 2 seasons ago. They’ll be counted upon, as well as all others, to lead the ground attack this season. We’ll also see them out there on defense.

Other Juniors moving up to the senior team include John Neubauer, Gary Seefried, Eli Burgett and Jamie Devoss.  Looking forward to working with them, as they’ll continue to refine their pass and run blocking techniques and tackling abilities.  They look courageous, tough and determined.

A new player is Gustavo Villaroelle from the Kissimmee Kowboys. He’s been very impressive with his technique, fundamentals, low-center of gravity, movement and power.  Edward Cintron, Carlos Lebron and Alex Cintron have been impressive with their mini-camp attendance and hustle.

Overall, the Senior Patriots have a strong group of linemen that appear competitive, have been in attendance for mini-camp and hustling in their drills run by Coaches Seefried and Neubauer. This group will only get better with time and as they become more familiar with our drive and pass blocking techniques, fundamentals and schemes.
